YEY! one of the phrases that Alice Palace submitted as an idea for postmarks for the Royal Mail has been chosen as a winner! ...‘Post a piece of happiness – send a card’ (the rules are they they must be positive messages, of up to nine words and must include the word ‘card’) - it’s a great collaboration and fantastic publicity for the greetings card industry….
The snow came down sooooooooooooooo fast as I walked home with Jemima on Thursday - it was great!
Just having a lovely cuppa right now…and watching MASSIVE snowflakes out of the window (a very productive day!!)
Here’s some directions for a good cuppa….
1. Use tea from India or Ceylon (Sri Lanka), not China
2. Use a teapot, preferably ceramic
3. Warm the pot over direct heat
4. Tea should be strong - six spoons of leaves per 1 litre
5. Let the leaves move around the pot - no bags or strainers
6. Take the pot to the boiling kettle
7. Stir or shake the pot
8. Drink out of a tall, mug-shaped tea cup
9. Don’t add creamy milk
10. Add milk to the tea, not vice versa
11. No sugar!
The new farm animals range has been featured on the card and gift blog today…
I love these images by Jon Klassen (the illustrator who did the BBC animation for the Winter Olympics, mentioned in an earlier blog)
Thanks very much to Allie who helped me out at the Spring Fair on Wednesday…
We went to see Vampire Weekend (a very popular New York indie band who embrace African popular culture) at Birmingham O2 Academy on Wednesday night - who were great - but i was so very tired after standing up all day at the show!!
We set up the show on Saturday in record time and then wizzed off to have some fun and a chinese in Dunton Bassett. The show started on Sunday and I spent the day with Katie who VERY kindly helped me, and made some delicious alternative flapjacks which she likes to call cup jacks (flapjacks in the shape of cupcakes!) - very tasty indeed!
Is this the biggest onion in the world???? it’s homegrown by one of my neighbours and i’m not entirely sure what do do with it!!
we got up v. early on sunday morning to go on a walk as the sun was rising = lots of fun, v. cold (-4.5) and saw LOTS of wildlife too!
