A Christmasy visit to the Orangery
We went to Christmas at the Orangery in Bristol on Saturday - for arts, design, crafts and edibles!
It was lots of fun and sunny (again!) - - we met up with Mark’s family there and got to look around the grounds…
Mark’s in this one…
And he’s in this one too!
- We listened to the choir singers and mostly we just ate LOTS - firstly a lovely organic burger from the story group….
...then some mulled wine and my first (very yummy) mince pie of the year!
And then lastly, an amazing piece of choclate cake made by Chocolate Delores…
I loved all the old crockery which is available to hire from Bristol Vintage…
Bristol VintageI also loved the paper cut outs by Sienna Swan (what a lovely name too!) ....
Sienna Swan
This looks like a good thing to go along to….
Rachel Goodchild very kindly gave me a copy of The Pattern Sourcebook - A Century of Surface Design by Drusilla Cole(Published by Laurence King Publishing).
It’s great and includes quite a few of Rachel’s own designs - both of the left hand pages below…
On Sunday it was Mark’s turn for a treat and i’d organised a stop at Charingworth Manor…
- we stayed in the Worcester room and had a very large selection of teas!
and soap…
Again, the food was AMAZING - we both had scallops and black pudding for starters and then Mark had rabbit and I had pheasant….tres bon!
On my way to ride Albert I met plenty of wildlife!
And DON’t FORGET to get an advent calender….. it’s so much fun counting down the days…
