a trip to London
On Tuesday I went to London for the day and met up with Rachel Goodchild (another greetings card publisher) and we went to a meeting with lots of other greetings card publishers at the Business Design Centre in Islington all about the new show we’re doing there in May 2009 called Progressive Greetings Live.
Here are the two Paper Salad ladies with Rachel and myself…
Here’s a selection of Paper Salad products…
And some of Rachel Goodchild’s…
We arrived a little late and had some water as it was rather hot in the full meeting room. We had a talk about the publicity campaign and the planning of the show (and got a free bottle of bubbly and a spotty Emma Bridgewater pad too - yes!) - and then we had a lovely lunch and pudding and got to look round the business design centre. It was good to go to the meeting as now my I have started to think about the show and actually it isn’t that long away.
Afterwards Rachel and I went off to look in Libertys and also did a bit of shopping! I wore way too many clothes and had my thick winter coat too…think I was anticipating the freeze we had the previous day a la mountain! What a MASSIVE difference being in London compared to the day before’s mountain in Wales!
I had a look around the greetings cards and found quite a few I like:
This is The Jewel of the Nile by Enfin. la voila! (what a great name!)...
Here’s another - -
This one is a ‘Wild drunken binge’ report card by Knock Knock…
This one’s designed by We Are Family - -
And this is hand printed by Sort Design…
And this one is a Push me pull you design by 1973…
I got to read my book on the way to London - I’m reading the Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden at the moment ...
- but the next book from Book Club is The Resurrectionist which I really need to start reading NOW! - I love it’s cover - -
I got a cool pair of turqoise coloured tights from Oasis the other day when I went on a VERY quick and sudden shopping trip with Allie for a long sleeved dress - and liked the text for ‘Hosiery’...
On Wednesday I was VERY VERY busy after my couple of days away and had lots to catch up on. In the evening we had sausage and fishfinger rolls with Rob, Matt and Liz and then met up with Becky and went to see the fireworks…
Swings, sweets and fire!
