We went to eat at 5 North Street in Winchcombe last night and it was DELICIOUS - we went for their 7 course surprise menu.

Before the 7 courses even began we had a Welsh rarebit appetiser and then some very cool mini loaves of bread arrived - one loaf was brown and one was white and they were attached! You can just see the ends in the photo below….

For the seven courses we had:
1. Gazpatcho soup
2. Roasted hand dived scallop, ham hock 7 leek terrine, celeriac 7 parsley puree, violet mustard dressing

3. Rabbit of some description!
4. Elderflower smoked salmon, Salcombe crab, Quail egg, fennel cress salad, sweet pepper dressing
5. Best end of local lamb, rolled slow cooked breast, rosemary carrots, mash, lamb reduction
6. Selection of cheeses, oat biscuits, wine jellies and chutney (there were 8 different cheese ranging from mild to blow your head off!)
7. A selection of lots of yummy puddings including some tingley popping ice-cream and a shot of strawberry soup - yum!!

These are two of the cool ‘Dig in’ logos - from the BBC website - to encourage growing your own veg…and the short films narated by Sara Cox are great.
