Alice in wonderland…
Heston Blumenthal’s Feast is most mental cookery programme you’ll ever see! The first in the four-part series was on last night - and it was brilliant in recreating the Mad Hatter’s tea party from Alice in Wonderland. Alice’s “Drink Me” potion was bright pink and served in a test tube, grubs were injected with tomato concentrate and sat in an entirely edible garden, and an edible pocket watch made from stock was also created (my best bit).
Heston Blumenthal is known for his mind-bending menus where food and science combine with delicious consequences: “I want to create meals that are a delicious spectacle, where every bite is a delight to the senses.”
