Calling all the LADIES……………….2012 is a leap year…………which means………….we get to propose on February 29th (next Wednesday – it will soon come round!) so if you’ve been thinking about how you are going to pop the BIG question, then get creative - why not check out our ideas below for some fun, romantic, perfect ways to get him to say ‘YES’!!

1. Purchase ‘MARRY ME’ from our Alice’s alphabet cards…

Write out each of the seven cards with a special message (maybe 7 top reasons why you love him and want to be married to him). Create a treasure hunt, and he gets to open one of the seven cards with each clue, so by the time he gets to the end he will have his message in front of him!

2. Send an Alice Palace card with your marriage message inside!
You could give the card to his boss at work, and get him to put it on your husband to be’s desk ready to open when he gets into work, (and maybe arrange with his boss for him to have half a day off)…………..the rest of the day can be spent together as you so wish!

Leap Year has been the traditional time that women can propose marriage.
In many of today’s cultures, it is okay for a woman to propose marriage to a man. Society doesn’t look down on such women. However, that hasn’t always been the case.
When the rules of courtship were stricter, women were only allowed to pop the question on one day every four years. That day was February 29th.
