another month has flown by ...and alice palace is now 12 years old!
When I first started out, I was working part time as a graphic designer and dreaming about designing and illustrating my own way (I love creating designs with a mix of illustration, collage and words). Then my job came to an end, and it was the best thing that could have happened. I never thought it would work out and I didn’t have a clue what I was doing - but with much trial and error - I managed to grow the business. I started out with the idea that Alice Palace products would be hand drawn, eco-friendly, and created in the uk. I’m a creative at heart and have a real love of nature, so combining illustration and helping the planet makes me feel happy.
I began with greeting cards and wedding stationery, and then ventured into wrap, and personalised gifts. I got so busy that my sister Lizzy joined the business 7 years ago and she is brilliant at all the things I’m not so good at.
Thanks to everyone for their support over the last 12 years - we are extremely super busy at the moment with personalised teacher gifts - so it’s doubtful I’ll get to do a blog again until the summer holidays!
