logo design from Alice Palace

By Alice on Wednesday 5th August 2015

I worked on this really fun logo for Low farm Nursery & Therapy Centre (a specialist centre for children with autism and other associated difficulties on a farm in a lovely, peaceful, rural setting). The clients were after an informal logo that had a fun feel, was child friendly, showed a happy working environment, incorporated the farm & farm animals as a main theme (animal therapy) and their dog called Paddington. I TOTALLY enjoyed designing it…

I began work on the project by creating some illustrations and characters - a girl, a tree, some flowers and plants, an apple, some dogs, an owl, a balloon, a building, and some ABC building blocks, and creating hand cut lettering for the words ‘Low Farm’. I started with the client’s idea of; ‘A semi circle above the name like a sun coming up and a silhouette of different animals.’ so I began with a yellow semi circle and from there added in other colours, so it’s almost like a rainbow. I then incorporated a happy apple character (because of apples being associated with schools), a little girl character (a child character that was neither boy or girl was used in the final logo), a bright flower (for some extra happiness and colour), a dog, and an owl (because they live on the farm, and also because of their symbol of wiseness). I also included a balloon (for some extra fun), and a speech bubble saying hello (for some friendliness).

‘Everything you sent looks fantastic and we are very happy with the various logos and designs. I think it quite likely I will come back to you in the not too distant future for web site images etc. Thanks for all your hard work, if I can help you out with testimonials or recommendations etc I would be very happy to do so. Many thanks.’ Nick, 27/06/15
