more on Thassos….
On the second day we found another deserted beach in the morning…
- and then a more commercial version in the afternoon…which was amazing and had REALLY great bean bag loungers! And we still had the place pretty much to ourselves!
In the afternoon we went to another inland village called Megalo Prinos and the food we had there was probably the best we had - it was very yummy and we befriended a little dog who looked like a mini rug when he lay down and who protected us from the many cats that were interested in our tasty treats!

there are thousands of cats all over the island…
we then travelled along a very scary road further inland towards a monastry - there were great views!
there are LOTS of brightly coloured bee boxes all over the island…
On day three we visited Thassos town - also referred to as Limenas…
and in the evening we had our dinner at a traditional tavern in Potamia which is another inland village - where there were some huge pieces of olive tree all varnished up…
We spent most of the next day at Alyki beach which was very beautiful….
and we made good friends with this seagull!
later we went to see the monastry…
...and also spotted a goat on top of a tree!!
We spent our last day on Golden Beach…
and we spotted the very cool big yellow truck (that we’d seen elsewhere on the island throughout the week) which was transporting a French family around the world and had a map of their route on the side…
