pampering and camping: the hen do!

By Alice on Monday 28th July 2008

The past week has mostly been about food! - - I went out for lunch with Becky B on Tuesday at Word of Mouth in Evesham and had a yummy goats cheese and onion marmalade sandwich - mmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Me and Mark and Jemima had an evening at Jana, John ords and Harveys - we had a really great BBQ and Jemima had great fun with a humonga tongue…

I’ve been very busy at work finalising my new designs - and have 38 new Alice Palace greetings card designs to be launched at Top Drawer Autumn. On Wednesday, I went to see a couple of office spaces with Mandie - and we are thinking about moving to an office together. It’s all very exciting!! Then I helped Liz and Charlie with their move. I went for a great hack with Albi and Jemima on Thursday (it was very hot indeed) and Jemima managed to walk calmly through 2 fields full of sheep off the lead - what an achievement! I was very proud. I had Friday off for my hen do! The hen do idea was camping and pampering and it was held at Jana’s house and kicked off at 12 noon. We had a beach theme and a hot tub, and a pretend beach, and sumo suits, and absoutely AMAZING sunshine!!

When I arrived there were beautiful flowers and some strawberry fizz provided by Jana - who was the most brilliant hostess.

Lizzy’s friend Aimee was our pampering queen and she set up shop in Jana’s spare room - and worked throughout the day and evening to make everyone even more beautiful!

I had a manicure witha French polish - which was fantastic!!

Thanks to everyone that made it - I had a GREAT time! And a particularly HUGE thanks to Liz and Katie and Ellen and Jana and Aimee x x x x x

On Saturday morning we enjoyed the beautiful sunshine and the hot tub and food left overs.

- and then in the afternoon me and Liz went for a cream tea in Broadway on our way home (because we hadn’t quite had enough to eat!!).

Later that day, the fun continued round at Ellens - ‘just a few quiet drinks’ turned into something completely different - and very much like a WHOLE lot of FUN!!! We had our dinner outside and sat like old ladies under a blanket drinking pimms and LOTS of wine until there was darkness… and severe drunken-ness!

- and then we set off a wishes in the sky lantern - it was brilliant watching it disappear…

I loved my hen weekend!!
