Pulse

By Alice on Thursday 5th June 2008

On Friday I escaped the madness of per-show preperations and went to meet Katie in Worcester to look at wedding dresses!! And I got one - - yey!!

So that was a VERY good day. Then on Saturday we set off for London in the van with Jemima and stopped on the way and ordered our wedding rings - so now everything’s nearly sorted! We set up the show in record time and then went to Becky and Ben’s house for dinner which was great - we had nettle and pea soup (i will get the recipe) followed by carbonara and then a FAB icecream!

Some of my new card designs got picked to go into the new product area…

On Sunday morning we went to a Silvestre coffee shop round the corner from Earl’s Court Exhibition Centre for breakfast and had a bacon toastie.

Sunday was busy with orders right from opening, from both existing customers and new shops - so I was very pleased! I noticed that there are many new ‘Green’ businesses opening up, which is good - as my cards are nearly totally green! I also got a distributor interested from Italy and many customers are interested in having wall hangings as displays in their shops. I didn’t do much on Sunday evening except eat a great big pizza all to myself!!

This was the view from my hotel room…

...and this is a coffee shop/restaurant that I love the look of, but have never actually been into. There are tables with red and white cloths on and vases with roses in and the window is filled with different coloured jugs!

Monday was just as busy for orders (and it was nicer for me because Laura came to visit) ... and Harrods showed interest in my designs!! YEY!! Me and Laura went out for dinner on Monday evening and had sauges & mash - yum! Tuesday was good for orders too, and I had Mclaggan Smith Mugs interested in quite a few of my designs for their mugs (and they have Charlie and Lola mugs!), and Whittards would like me to do some illustration work for them as well.

So overall Pulse was a really good show. I only managed to have a quick look round the rest of it as I was mostly solo - the launchpad area was very inspiring. And we followed the most AMAZING sunset all the way home!
