The Peacock

By Alice on Tuesday 1st December 2009

Mark and I had a brilliant night away on Thursday last week and as a very special treat we stayed at The Peacock at Rowsley (Derbyshire).

It was a really great place and we loved it and want to go back already!

Their beer mats were great (and so was the beer!) AND the food was AMAZING! ....

The Peacock is famed for its seven miles of fly fishing on the Rivers Wye and Derwent where anglers come from all over the world to fish for rare wild rainbow trout and the unique strain of brown trout.

There were yummy biscuits and teas in the room which we thoroughly enjoyed!

and nice toiletries too…

We went for a very long walk around the Peak District National Park the next day (and had sunshine! - - along with a tiny bit of rain)...

We met some very cool cows…

Some of the walls had steps up over them which were great fun for jemima the agility dog!
