Wedding stationery :: Clare & Stefan

Clare first contacted me in August 2012 and she was after a bespoke design for her wedding… ‘My fiancee is an avid cyclist and so I love the idea of incorporating that into the wedding so that it isn’t all just about me, I can get carried away sometimes! I have a massive love of penguins, which may seem really odd and I nickname Stefan ‘Chicken’. I am sure this is one of the most bizarre E mails you have ever had, I am sorry. Therefore could the wedding invitations incorporate a bike, a penguin and a chicken? Perhaps a penguin bride and a chicken groom on a tandem? We met at Stefan’s place of work, a real ale pub called the ‘Bread and Bitter’ and so if there could be some real ale type backdrop that would be amazing as I saw your Kayaking design and thought incorporating where you met was lovely. Could you also, I know this seems really weird include a pumpkin?’ Clare, 13/08/2012

We did save the date magnets, day invites, evening invites, address labels for their invites and their rsvps, menu rsvps and postcard rsvps, placenames, tablenumbers, a guest book, kid’s activity bags and tags, and happiness tags for them…

With bespoke designs, I normally start by doing the drawings and creating a black and white layout (and I then proceed to colouring it in). This is the first draft sent to Clare and Stefan…

‘Firstly I would like to say how lovely the design is; it is so cute and it is almost perfect for us. There are two changes we’d like to make though. Stefan would like the Pumpkin to have a face on it, a smiling one. Also, although I wanted the real ale element incorporated into it Stefan is less keen to be associated with work and so we were wondering if we could change the sign to “Brewed since 2010” and have a plain love heart in the middle that doesn’t say Bread and Bitter in it. That will both satisfy my desire to have where we met kept in without Stefan feeling his wedding is associated with work. You have been brilliant so far so a massive massive thank you from us both.’ Clare 14/09/12
