wrapping gifts…

By Alice on Tuesday 3rd November 2009

It’s easy with the new Alice Palace wrapping paper!

Here’s a quick and easy guide to wrapping gifts:

Ensure you remove price tags.
Place the wrapping paper on a flat surface and put the gift on top.
Work out how much wrapping paper you’ll need to cover it and cut off any left over wrap.
Take one side and fold it over to the bottom of your gift. Then take the other side, folding it over, too. The paper should overlap slightly.
At either end, fold the corners in to make a triangle and pull to the top of the package. Stick down with tape.
Take some ribbon, long enough to go around the present twice, with some to spare. Place the ribbon on top of the gift. Wrap it to bottom and turn the gift 90 degrees so that the ribbon comes up the sides. Tie a bow on top and, using scissors cut off the excess ribbon at an angle to prevent fraying.
Note: If you put your gift in a suitable sized box, wrapping it will be so much easier!! Please remember to recycle all packaging after use.

We went for a lovely walk all around Hidcote on Saturday morning - here are some pics from the very fun time that was had!

All the sheep were still asleep!

We spent ALOT of time trying to catch lucky leaves as they fell from the trees (this is lots of fun if you want to try it!)

Jemima got stuck when she climbed onto some big round bales, and then travelled along and found she couldn’t get down quite so easily!

We had this LOVELY email today…Subject: a random email

Dear Alice Palace peeps,

Ah, I have been checking out your website, and it is so cute. I loved reading your blog, and thought, in our busy, hectic world, so nice to find someone who takes the time to appreciate all the lovely things in our world. And loved all the pictures of your country bumpkin shenanigans. I love your cards too and have just sent one to my boyfriend of the two otters at the bridge playing poo sticks, as we often stand over this little bridge at broadway, litterally discussing the rules of poo sticks! deary me… anyway, I just wanted to say your work is truly wonderful, and all the best with your lovely business. I am sure you make lots of people smile with your illustrations. Sorry for this jibbering ‘fan’ email, but life as a receptionist in probably one of the quietest hotels on this planet, causes me to ramble away on emails somewhat, even if they are to randomers, hehe.

‘ALICE*PALACE’... you rock!!! And you make the world a prettier place.

Love Helen
(Thanks very much for taking the time to write us such a lovely email! - - we love it!)
