I loved a workshop I did recently, run by Sarah Watts on turning art into repeats (she's an absolute wizz at Photoshop and is v good at teaching her skills).
It's so fun making repeat patterns!
I've always made patterns by hand/by eye, rather than using the more mathematical approach in Photoshop, and it's so much fun making a repeat pattern in Photoshop using hand-drawn work. These are 2 of my otter characters from my sketchbook...
It's a great way to play with art from your sketchbook, and it means you can turn your art into something bigger, bringing ideas to life and building a big body of work for surface design (when you get the time!)...
