art with kids; colour

By Alice on Thursday 9th April 2020

Keep your creative minds inspired, here’s a new crafty project that is great to do at home with kids, looking at colour.
Choose a colour and using 4 different methods colour in 4 shapes with that same colour
(we used wax crayons, colouring pencils, collage, and finger painting with poster paint).

Creativity is a great way to gain back some freedom - it’s the doing of the craft project that is important, and having fun with it (not what the end result looks like). If you work on craft projects together every day (or as often as you can), it’s therapeutic, and the art will improve over time and the kids will come up with their own ideas and art lessons for you to all be a part of. It’s great to put the art up on your walls / send in the post to family and friends that you can’t see at the moment.

Mount the 4 coloured shapes onto a contrasting colour
(we made ours with poster paint and a mini roller).
