Desmond’s Dragon book
I created the illustrations for this book called Desmond’s Dragon by Anne Stairmand; Imagine finding a dragon outside your bedroom window one night, just like Desmond! Follow the adventures Desmond has with his dragon when he takes him to school.

I was given the script and a list of illustrations required, and I worked on ideas for the pages in biro at first.
These were the first drawings for page 34.
I then moved onto monoprint drawings
They were cleaned up and presented as a black and white page layout
Anne suggested that Desmond was added in, which I think worked really well.
I then coloured up the image in photoshop, and supplied this final illustration
It’s lovely to have a copy of the published book - I had to work hard on scale and composition, and showing the context of the illustration in the background too.
It’s nice to see the reviews on amazon…
