hugging trees!

By Alice on Tuesday 10th November 2009

A really fun thing to get involved with is Ancient Tree Hunt where you can help find (and map) all the old fat trees in the UK… Ancient trees are found anywhere and everywhere – so this is a treasure hunt that everyone can take part in! You need to measure how many people all holding hands can hug around the tree trunk - - There’s more information on the Ancient Tree Hunt website

They’re involved in the plant a tree pledge that’s going on - it’s the 5th December… It’s a good thing to join in with!

I got a great stew recipe from my friend Allie which I made at the weekend - it’s beef stew with chilli chocolate and giant garlic croutons and is delicious!
You just brown the beef in batches, and add in carrots, celery, onions and garlic - then add a bottle of red wine, mustard, chilli, thyme and black pepper and put in the oven (covered) for 2 hours. When the stew is nearly ready add some very dark choclate and stir in, and then put the garlic buttered slices of baguette on top and cook for a further 10 minutes. YU -UMMMM!
