Sparking creatvity
Last year I took part in Getting Paid To Draw, Mike Lowery's 8-week portfolio-building class for illustrators. I absolutely loved it, created new illustrations for my portfolio, and found it so brilliant to be learning again, like I was back at uni after so many years!
I started this year with The Good Ship's planning party, which was so good (doing a review of the good and the bad from 2024 - and then picking controllable goals for 2025).
My dream has always been to write and illustrate a picture book - so I've planned to do at least one workshop or online course a month to help me to write my own children's book.
So far I have loved it -

Personalised wedding anniversary mugs
Sarah contacted me to create some mugs for her 9th wedding anniversary. It was so lovely to hear from her, having created her wedding stationery 9 years ago! The theme for a nine year anniversary is pottery / willow - and the design was to also include Alfie the dog.

Celebrate the Year of the Snake
I was born in the year of the snake - but funnily enough, haven't drawn many snakes - in fact only two, that I can find! This papercut snake illustration...
Goal setting
I love setting goals in January - this year I've decided to do a few online courses to help me write my own children's book (which I can then illustrate to my heart's content!). I'm close to completing my first workshop, and have a story idea almost out of my head and onto paper!
